The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Ebubekir Gizligider, along with an accompanying delegation, paid an official visit to our President, Dr. Murat Karakoyunlu.

During the meeting, a wide range of strategic topics were discussed, with a primary focus on enhancing agricultural productivity in the KOP Region through advanced mechanization, the sustainable management of groundwater wells, and energy-efficiency-oriented investments.

The discussions evaluated the promotion of modern equipment in agriculture to reduce production costs and bolster regional competitiveness. Both parties emphasized the importance of transitioning to high-tech farming practices to ensure long-term efficiency for local producers.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the effective and controlled use of groundwater resources. Technical approaches regarding well management and innovative water-saving strategies were highlighted as top priorities for the region's environmental and economic future.

Furthermore, the delegation and KOP officials reviewed ongoing efforts and potential new areas of cooperation regarding:

  • The optimization of agricultural irrigation systems.

  • Reducing energy consumption in farming operations.

  • The expansion of renewable energy applications within the agricultural sector.

This visit marks a continued commitment to strengthening the synergy between national ministries and regional administrations to achieve sustainable development goals in Turkish agriculture.
