The “Niğde Ulukışla Darboğaz II. Phase PWS Irrigation Facility” project, which was included in the Investment Program within the scope of KÖSİP 2022, is at the contract stage. The project covers different fields and resources compared to the project implemented in 2021.

Through this project, it is aimed to record unexpected meteorological events, which have accelerated particularly in recent years due to climate change, and to establish a necessary database for analyzing the new climate structure. This initiative intends to minimize production losses caused by climate events such as frost, excessive rainfall, drought, etc., during the production processes of all producers.

The most important source of income in Çekerek district is agriculture and livestock farming. There is no small or large-scale industry in the district. Due to its location, the district is situated in a rural area.

Niğde University UNİKOP Energy House Project

The project aims to preserve the production culture of Divle Obruk Cheese, a geographically indicated cheese produced in Divle Village, Ayrancı District, which is also a cultural heritage. The objectives are to carry out production under healthier conditions, process the cheese locally, and market it through the cooperative.

Within the scope of the project, as part of the training and extension activities aimed at generating income, with the objectives of instilling social awareness in women who are engaged in economic activity within the family and are categorized as unpaid family workers through the trainings provided, ensuring their participation in the cooperative, and providing them with a profession to sustain their own lives, trees are processed to make walking sticks, and stonework with local motifs is applied onto the walking sticks.
