Within the scope of the KOP Agricultural Training and Extension Project, training on “Apple Harvesting” was provided to foremen and harvest workers in Karaman Province, aiming to minimize production losses during the apple harvest.

The aim of the projects is to develop and expand modern viticulture using high-wire training systems in areas with a viticulture culture. Through the project, diseases and pests in the vineyards have been reduced, yields have increased, and farmers’ incomes have improved.

Due to small ruminant livestock farming being based on pasture, pastures are of great importance. On a 300-decare pasture area, the planting of 33,333 four-wing saltbush plants and the installation of an electric fence have been provided. With the pasture rehabilitation, an increase in profitability in small ruminant livestock farming is foreseen.

Hemp is one of the traditional cultivated plants of both our country and Yozgat, and its importance and usage have been increasingly spreading worldwide in recent years. Yozgat is one of the 19 provinces where its cultivation is permitted according to the hemp regulations. The fact that hemp is one of the traditional plants of our country and Yozgat, coupled with its growing importance and usage in recent years, necessitates revisiting this plant, increasing its production, and ensuring the supply of necessary raw materials for industries based on it.

The project has enabled the processing of vegetables produced in the region at a previously supported boutique pickle facility. Furthermore, it aims to improve the infrastructure for the local marketing of these products as a continuation of the project.

Through this project, it is aimed to demonstrate that more economical and efficient potato production can be achieved using our domestic and national potato varieties, to increase awareness regarding the use of domestic and national seeds, and to reduce foreign dependency in potato seed supply. In addition to providing cultivation training, the project is also targeted to contribute to the widespread adoption of our domestic and national varieties.

Through the planned wooden demonstration vineyard, which is designed to be compatible with the region's natural structure, the project aims to introduce modern viticulture systems to farmers, enable them to modernize their own vineyards through provided training, and expand production areas. Within the scope of the project, a 6-decare model wooden vineyard has been established.

Despite the Acıgöl district being a region with significant cattle farming and numerous cooperatives, these producer unions, as is common across the country, have largely functioned only as milk collection centers without advancing further. Through this project, a cooperative consciousness has been established, and in collaboration with the Karacaören Cooperative, regarded as the best in the region, this mindset has been broken. A milk processing facility with a daily capacity of 5 tons has been established to process the milk of local producers, thereby eliminating dependency on external resources.

Nevşehir province ranks first in Turkey in the production of pumpkin seeds for snacking. The project aims to prevent producers from being subjected to prices determined by merchants and to enable them to process and sort their products through their local chamber of agriculture, thereby selling them at their true value. Within this scope, a product processing facility with a capacity of 5 tons per hour has been established.

In line with the concept of sustainable rural development, a 3,000 m² seedling production greenhouse has been established in the region. The project aims to enhance the production capacity of producer unions and family farms, increase the employability of the rural workforce, improve quality of life, combat poverty, and elevate the welfare level of rural communities by providing regular and sufficient income opportunities. Additionally, it seeks to sustain the population in rural areas by meeting the seedling needs of greenhouse producers.

The project aims to establish a practical application area within a glass greenhouse located in the garden of the Konya Science Center to familiarize children with the concept and help them appreciate its importance. Within the scope of the project, a glass greenhouse featuring social and practical application areas has been installed.

Through this project, the objectives are to enable beekeepers to produce their own queen bees to obtain higher quality and quantity of products, to contribute to their income by cultivating alternative bee products such as royal jelly, pollen, and propolis alongside honey, and to strengthen the organizational structure so that they can have a say in the market regarding the cultivation and marketing of bee products.

The project basin, which includes Güneysınır District of Konya Province, consists of marginal lands that cannot be irrigated and have no irrigation potential, making it a region experiencing continuous migration. Medicinal and aromatic plants are of great importance for utilizing unirrigated, arid, unproductive, and idle lands in rural areas. Through this project, the aims are to extract oil from the lavender produced by farmers in Güneysınır district, thereby improving quality, increasing income and welfare levels, and bringing marginal lands into agricultural use.

Through Training and Extension Activities aimed at field crop breeding and ensuring the efficient and sustainable use of soil and water resources in crop production, the first fully controlled breeding greenhouse in Konya province has been established at Selçuk University to strengthen educational infrastructure. The greenhouse is designed to create suitable conditions unaffected by seasonal variations, enabling multiple breeding cycles within a single year to shorten the breeding process. Additionally, the project aims to increase university students' interest in plant breeding and demonstrate modern breeding practices, agricultural techniques, and technologies.

Due to the lack of practical training areas and equipment in schools, and the fact that graduating students enter the job market with only theoretical knowledge, students are unable to receive adequate and qualified agricultural education. Through this project, the aim is to expose students to diverse production infrastructure, cultivate generations with the potential to contribute to the country's social and economic development as Agricultural Vocational High Schools, and transform our youth into individuals beneficial to our nation and country.

Carried out within the Faculty of Agriculture at Selçuk University, this project represents the country's first domestic purple carrot seed breeding initiative. It aims to substitute and nationalize imported seeds, resulting in the development of the first national hybrid purple carrot seed through breeding studies.
