The most important source of income in Çekerek district is agriculture and livestock farming. There is no small or large-scale industry in the district. Due to its location, the district is situated in a rural area.

The Keme mushroom is a species of mycorrhizal fungus and lives in symbiosis with its host plant, Helianthemum spp. (Sunrose, Rockrose).

Through this project, the primary aim is to meet the seedling needs for vegetables, flowers, etc., first in Meram District and subsequently in Konya and surrounding provinces, thereby activating local potential. It also seeks to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources locally, enhance the competitiveness of producers, and promote the economic and social integration of vegetable-growing farmers. Within the scope of the project, a 3,000 m² seedling production greenhouse has been established for seedling cultivation.

The Kaman New Generation KOP Learning Center has been established in a building owned by the Kaman Municipality, located in the Çiftlikli neighborhood of the district. The New Generation KOP Learning Center includes the KOP Art-Design Workshop, the KOP Technology-Digital Engineering Workshop, and the KOP Astronomy, Aviation, and Space Workshop.

In the region, which historically had a viticulture culture, vineyards were abandoned due to diseases that emerged because the old-type rootstocks were ungrafted.

In fields where dry farming is practiced, fallowing is common. The project aims to narrow fallow areas by introducing alternative production such as black cumin, cumin, sesame, and thyme. This initiative is intended to provide economic returns, implement crop rotation for its positive outcomes, increase the income level, quality of life, and welfare of the local population, and achieve high income from limited land.
